Platform Updates
Restructured the urls so now there is no php extension, sometimes referred to as pretty urls. Redesigned the logo, it will stay as is. After much deliberation, we decided on this look as it matches the wording and philosophy of the platform. We want people to feel the connection using cnctasphr with clarity, control, and authentic connection.
Several improvements implemented to create a smoother and more consistent experience across the platform. Links are now cleaner and easier to read, and pages like Home and Groups have simpler URLs. Profile links now use @usernames, making them easier to find and share. We also improved how the platform handles pages behind the scenes, helping everything load more efficiently. Logging out now keeps the experience clean without showing extra page names in the address bar.
We are still working on changing icons for PWA and maybe looking to change our logo indefinately.
Added personal and professional toggle with ability to edit either with information. We also placed the stamp "Member Since" with year.
Removed the age display on a user's profile, age is only used for verification upon sign up.
We focused on strengthening user trust and transparency across the platform. Content is shown without algorithms or hidden filters, giving users a more direct and authentic experience. We also reinforced our approach to user safety, ensuring people have clear control over what they share while maintaining an open and honest environment.
Mobile footer improvements and layout optimization.
Improvements to both design and functionality. We removed extra white padding around the app icon for Apple devices, updated the music upload button color, and added new styling rules for a cleaner interface. We also introduced an audio player, created a system to store audio files, and added privacy and permission controls so users can choose whether their content is public or private. Each profile now has its own dedicated audio player. We added pagination to profile content for easier browsing, and introduced follow request notifications that appear across the platform until approved or denied. Users can also view a requester’s profile directly before making a decision.
We introduced Groups and group pages, giving users the ability to create and manage their own communities. Group owners can assign moderators and control permissions, including public and private access. We also added features like pinning important content, messaging within groups, and uploading files with the ability to view them before downloading. Group pages now support photo sharing and message posting to help keep conversations active and organized.
At the start of this journey, we built a simple platform, but it wasn't quite there yet. So, it was put on the backburner. We even tried a third party structured platform, but that had its fair share of problems with code, restrictions, licensing and so much more. It became overwhelming to say the least in trying to get some accountability from those third parties to help with the issues we found, and there were many. But additional fixes came with additional fees. Offering suggestions to buy plugins and then having to reinstall. It was more of a headache than anything. We decided it was time for us to do our own thing. To do something different that no one else has, and we began the journey. Our background in media, communications, psychology and full stack development, made it easy to see different angles while applying a strategic approach, a site centered around humans, nothing more.
